Communication of a Chef
22. February 2010 by Kenneth Gilbert.
Day in and day out Chef’s are mis-understood. We work long hours, sacrifice time away from our families, yet we are artists striving to create the perfect master piece! The communication of Chef is very unique. We are passionate creatures with distinctive skills that sometimes, or should I say many times allows our emotions to get the best of us. This is merely due to searching for the perfect dish, perfect service experience and all of the above.
With every breath in me I will never allow someone to sacrifice the intergity of the dish, dining experience or my team! People need to understand that you can not cage an artist or a perfectionist. Allow the passion of a Chef to be your guide to success, challenge, support and watch what happens. This is the communication that I put out to Hospitality Leaders to undertstand. Chef’s want the operations to be more successful than you think. Think of an Artist with a full showing of their art gallery. This is what a Chef wants in the restaurants. Let us do what we do……
